Entity Info

Entity Information

This tool follows ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol standards for corporate carbon accounting.

Scope 1: Direct Emissions

Direct greenhouse gas emissions from sources owned or controlled by the organization.

Stationary Combustion

Emissions from fuel combustion in fixed equipment (boilers, furnaces, generators, etc.). Default emission factors (EF) are provided based on IPCC guidelines. For region-specific or updated emission factors (EF), please refer to the user guide.

Unit Note: Net Calorific Value (NCV) unit is GJ/Unit of fuel. Emission Factor (EF) unit is tCO2e/GJ. GJ (Gigajoule) = 10^9 Joules, which is the standard unit of energy measurement.

Mobile Combustion

Emissions from fuel combustion in mobile equipment (company vehicles, forklifts, etc.). Default emission factors (EF) are provided based on IPCC guidelines. For region-specific or updated emission factors (EF), please refer to the user guide.

Process Emissions

Emissions from industrial processes and chemical reactions (non-fuel combustion). Emission factors (EF) should be obtained from facility-specific data, industry guidelines, or regulatory sources. Please refer to the user guide for guidance on finding appropriate emission factors (EF).

Process Type Activity Data (AD) Unit Emission Factor (EF) EFUnit Action

Fugitive Emissions

Emissions from intentional or unintentional releases (refrigerants, leaks, etc.)

Note: For other refrigerant types not listed below, please refer to the User Guide for additional GWP factors.

Scope 2: Energy Indirect Emissions

Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from purchased electricity, heat, steam, and cooling.

Purchased Electricity

Emissions from electricity purchased from the grid. It is recommended to check the latest emission factors (EF) and manually update the values.

Unit Note: Activity data is measured in MWh (Megawatt-hours), and Emission Factor (EF) is measured in tCO2e/MWh. 1 MWh = 1000 kWh (Kilowatt-hours).

MWh tCO2e/MWh

Green Certificates (Renewable Energy Certificates)

Renewable energy certificates purchased to demonstrate green electricity consumption

Note: Green certificates allow you to claim renewable electricity in market-based Scope 2 calculations. Only certificates that meet Scope 2 quality criteria should be marked as "Valid". The system calculates both location-based and market-based emissions.

Purchased Heat, Steam, & Cooling

Emissions from purchased thermal energy (district heating, steam, chilled water, etc.). Emission factors (EF) should be obtained from your energy supplier or regional energy authority. Please refer to the user guide for guidance on finding appropriate emission factors (EF).

Scope 3: Value Chain Emissions

Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the organization's value chain. This tool covers 5 key categories relevant to manufacturing enterprises.

Category 1: Purchased Goods and Services

Emissions from goods and services purchased by the organization (EEIO spend-based method)

Note: This tool uses the US EPA Supply Chain GHG Emission Factor (EF) v1.3 (categorized by NAICS-6). Search to find specific industry sectors or product types, and obtain Emission Factors (EF) converted to tCO2e/CNY (using an exchange rate of 7.2 USD/CNY). Please refer to the User Guide refer to the User Guide for more details.

Industry Sector / Product Type Annual Spend Unit Emission Factor (EF) EFUnit Action
CNY tCO2e/CNY

Category 3: Fuel and Energy-Related Activities

Transmission and distribution (T&D) losses from Purchased Electricity (not included in Scope 1 and 2)

Note: This calculation only covers T&D losses from electricity consumption. The system automatically references your Scope 2 electricity data and applies a regional T&D loss rate based on World Bank data: approximately 3%. Other fuel and energy-related activities should be calculated separately if material.

Electricity Grid Electricity Consumption Unit T&D Loss Rate Grid Emission Factor (EF) T&D Emissions Unit

Auto-calculated: This table is automatically populated based on your Scope 2 electricity consumption data above. T&D Emissions = Electricity Consumption x T&D Loss Rate x Grid Emission Factor (EF). Loss Rate: approximately 3% (World Bank data).

Category 4: Upstream Transportation and Distribution

Emissions from transporting and distributing purchased goods to your organization. Default Emission Factor (EF) is provided based on the UK Government 2024 GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting. For region-specific or updated Emission Factor (EF), please refer to the User Guide.

Category 5: Waste Generated in Operations

Emissions from waste disposal and treatment generated in operations. Default Emission Factor (EF) here is based on the US EPA 2024 GHG Emission Factors Hub dataset. For region-specific or updated Emission Factor (EF), please refer to the User Guide.

tonnes tCO2e/tonne
Category 6 & 7: Business travel (Category 6) and employee commuting (Category 7) are not included in this manufacturing-specific tool. For general calculation guidance on these categories, please refer to the User Guide.

Category 9: Downstream Transportation and Distribution

Emissions from transporting and distributing sold products to end customers. Default Emission Factor (EF) is provided based on the UK Government 2024 GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting. For region-specific or updated Emission Factor (EF), please refer to the User Guide.
